Version 1.1 · Last updated 4 November 2026

Our lawyer is reviewing this page, and Hjezne's company registration in Lebanon is in progress. We'll tell you before any important change. Payments are in test mode: no real money is charged or paid out yet.

In plain words: we collect what's needed to run bookings safely, show only what you make public, never sell your data, use advertising cookies only if you allow them, and delete your account when you ask.

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Hjezne handles personal data on hjezne.com. Hjezne is responsible for that data (the "controller"); its company registration in Lebanon is in progress and its legal details will be added here. Questions and requests: info@hjezne.com. It covers visitors, clients, freelancers, and people who appear in content uploaded to Hjezne.

2. What we collect

Account and profile: name, email, login details (or your Google name and email if you sign in with Google), your side (client or freelancer), photo, professional details, languages, areas, portfolio and settings. Passwords are handled by our login provider; we never see them.

Two-step login: your authenticator app is linked to your account; the secret behind it is kept by our login provider.

Bookings: packages and projects, briefs, dates and places, prices, the order snapshot, messages and attachments, deliveries and revisions, approvals, reviews, reports, and support messages. Photos and videos may show other people: upload only what's needed and allowed.

ID checks (freelancers): an ID or passport photo, a selfie, and for photographers and videographers a criminal record certificate. A person on our team checks them; there's no automatic face matching and no face template is made. The files are deleted once the team has decided; we keep only the result (checked or not, and for certificates the renewal date).

Payment details: how a client pays and where a freelancer gets paid (Whish or OMT name and phone number). Card details are entered with the payment provider; Hjezne never receives full card numbers. Payments are in test mode, so no real payment data is processed yet.

Shoot check-in: when a freelancer taps "I'm here", their location once and a photo. The client sets the place of the shoot. We don't track anyone's location continuously.

Pro tools (freelancers): saved replies, intake questions and the stage of each enquiry; project-alert choices (like a minimum budget); campaign link names; promo codes, how often each was used, and which client used one (so each client can use it only once); and a calendar link, which we store only as a scrambled fingerprint. A client's answers to intake questions are sent as a normal chat message.

Profile visits: daily counts of visits to a freelancer's profile and packages, with where they came from (for example Instagram, Hjezne search, or a campaign link). Counts only: no visitor's name, account or IP address is stored with them, and obvious bots and the freelancer's own visits aren't counted.

Technical and security data: IP address, browser, pages used and error logs. For security we keep a log of events like wrong passwords, locked accounts and refused actions; IP addresses in it are stored only as a scrambled fingerprint, and emails only as a fingerprint.

3. Why we use it

To run your account and the marketplace: show public profiles, organise bookings, messages and files, check deliveries, calculate deadlines, fees and rewards, move payments (when live), prevent fraud and abuse, keep accounts secure, answer support and reports, and meet legal and accounting duties. We rely on our agreement with you, our legal duties, our legitimate need to keep Hjezne safe, or your consent, depending on the use.

Optional things need your choice: marketing emails, and advertising measurement (below). Accepting the Terms doesn't switch them on. We don't use private deliveries, ID documents or private messages for advertising, and we don't use your private content to train AI models.

4. What others can see

Public: freelancer profiles, portfolios, packages, reviews, badges and the numbers we calculate (like on-time rate), which search engines may index. Clients' public projects show what the client chooses to publish. Other people only ever see your name and photo, never your email or phone.

Private: ID documents, payout details, exact addresses, private messages and private deliveries are never public. The other side of a booking gets what's needed to do the job. Freelancers see profile-view counts, not who visited. Pro analytics show totals of visits, enquiries and bookings, by source and by campaign link, never who the visitors or clients were. A promo code report shows how many times a code was used and the total discount, never who used it.

A Pro freelancer's calendar link shows their confirmed bookings (title, date and time, status) to anyone who has the link, so it should be kept private; it never includes client names, contact details or addresses, and it can be switched off or replaced in Settings at any time.

Our team: authorised team members can see what's needed to review profiles and ID checks, check deliveries (which means looking at the files), handle reports and support, and stop fraud, with two-step login required and sensitive actions recorded. They can read a private chat only if it's a Hjezne support chat, or while a report about that chat, or about an order between the two people, is open; every reading is recorded. Messages are automatically checked for contact details before a booking.

5. Who receives data

We don't sell personal data. We share it only with the other side of a booking as needed, and with the services that run Hjezne:

Supabase (database, logins and file storage; servers in Frankfurt, Germany) · Vercel (hosts the website; runs in Frankfurt, with pages delivered through its worldwide network) · Resend (sends our emails) · Cloudflare (runs our domain and forwards emails sent to @hjezne.com) · Google (only if you choose Continue with Google) · Meta (only if you allow advertising cookies; see below) · licensed payment providers, once payments are live.

Some of these process data outside Lebanon, under their own security and privacy terms. We may also share data with advisers, or with authorities when the law requires it. If Hjezne is sold or restructured, data moves only under confidentiality and the law.

6. Cookies and tracking

Necessary cookies keep you logged in (they can't be read by scripts and only travel over secure connections), lock a tab left on another account, remember your language, and remember your cookie choice. They're needed for the site to work.

Optional advertising: the Meta Pixel loads only after you tap Allow on the cookie note, only on public pages (home, about, browse, profiles, Pro), and only counts page views. It never runs on sign-up, login, accounts, orders, messages or admin, and Meta's automatic form reading is switched off. Refusing it doesn't limit anything.

Campaign link cookie: also only after you tap Allow. If you arrive through a freelancer's labelled campaign link, a cookie remembers that link for 7 days, so the freelancer's analytics can count an enquiry or booking that follows as "attributed" to it. It holds only the link code and the time, can't be read by scripts, and isn't shared with Meta or anyone else. While advertising cookies are in use, you can change your choice any time with "Cookie choices" at the bottom of every page.

7. How long we keep it

Delivery files: deleted 90 days after the order is approved, so download your work before then. Unused uploads are cleaned up automatically. ID documents: deleted once our team has decided. Read notifications: 90 days. Security log details: 90 days (hourly counts longer, with no personal details). Daily profile-view counts: 400 days. Campaign and promo code records are kept with the enquiry or order they belong to.

Unsubscribe links in emails stop working after a while and are replaced in newer emails, so an old forwarded email can't be used against you.

Account: while it's open. After you ask to delete it, we finish within 30 days: we remove your name, photo, profile, portfolio, packages, sign-in and email. Past orders stay as "Deleted account", because payment and order records must be kept for accounting and possible claims. Deleted data can stay in secure backups until they're replaced.

8. Your choices and rights

You can see and correct most of your data in your profile and Settings, turn marketing and reminder emails off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any email, change your cookie choice, and ask us to delete your account in Settings → Your data → Delete my account.

You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to explain how we use it, by writing to info@hjezne.com. We may check it's really you, and we aim to answer within 30 days. You can complain to a competent authority or court at any time.

9. Automatic checks

Rules in our system work out timers, fees, rewards, the numbers on profiles and the Super Hajez badge, check delivered files, hide contact details in early messages, and flag possible abuse. Browse results are ordered by completed jobs and how recently a freelancer joined; Pro doesn't buy a higher place. Project alerts match a new project to freelancers by category, online or in-person work and (for Pro) a minimum budget; they help with relevance and don't promise work. Automatic results can be wrong: tell us through Report a problem and a person will look. Account restrictions are decided by a person.

10. Security, children and changes

We protect data with two-step login for everyone, per-person access rules in the database, private file storage with short-lived links, encrypted connections, rate limits, and a security log that alerts our team. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong, we investigate and notify as the law requires.

Hjezne is for adults aged 18 and over. Photos of events may show children: only upload them with the right permission. Tell us if a child has made an account.

When we change this policy we update the date and version below and tell you about important changes. We won't start a new use that needs your consent just by changing this page. See also the Terms and Conditions.
